The Community Event in West Kirby You Need to Know About

More Than a Kitchen Company. A Part of the Community.

There is a question we get asked occasionally at James James Kitchens that we always love answering.

Why do you do it?

Why host a community event every year? Why give up the showroom for an afternoon of music, baking and laughter? Why pour so much energy into something that has nothing to do with kitchen design?

The answer is simple. Because it has everything to do with who we are.

At James James Kitchens, we have been designing beautiful kitchens in West Kirby for over 50 years. And in that time, the Wirral community has given us so much. The loyalty of customers who have come back to us again and again. The support of local businesses who have become genuine partners and friends. The warmth of a town that has welcomed us, championed us and trusted us with some of the most important spaces in their homes.

Giving back is not a strategy. It is not a marketing exercise. It is simply the right thing to do for a community that has given us so much. And every year, our community event in West Kirby is our way of saying thank you.

Why Do We Host A Community Charity Event in West Kirby: The Personal Story Behind the Purpose

Some things in life are bigger than business. And for us, this is one of them.

We host our annual community event on the Wirral to raise vital funds for cancer research and for the charities supporting patients and their families through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. We fundraise not only to honour the memory of those we have lost, but to help change the future. Because no one should face a cancer diagnosis alone. And every person deserves access to timely support and care.

For Maria, the founder of James James Kitchens, this cause is deeply and personally felt.

Her husband Paul was just 38 years old when he passed away from stage 4 glioblastoma, leaving Maria and their two young children completely devastated. Eleven years later, her mum passed away from secondary brain tumours caused by Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. And more recently, her nephew faced two separate brain tumour diagnoses by the age of 20, before thankfully going into remission.

Cancer has touched this family in the most profound and painful ways. And it is that personal experience that drives the purpose behind every single community event James James Kitchens has ever hosted on the Wirral.

This is not just a fundraising event. It is an act of love. For Paul. For Maria's mum. For her nephew. For every person across the Wirral and beyond who has been affected by cancer and who deserves to know that their community stands with them.

The two charities at the heart of this community event are Macmillan Cancer Support and North West Cancer Research. Macmillan provides physical, financial and emotional support to people living with cancer and the people who love them, being there at the most frightening moments and making sure nobody has to face it alone. North West Cancer Research funds vital research right here in our region, working tirelessly to improve outcomes for cancer patients across the North West and beyond.

Both causes are extraordinary. And both deserve every penny we can raise.

Looking Back: Last Year's Community Event on the Wirral

Last year's charity morning at the James James Kitchens showroom was one of the most special community events we have ever hosted on the Wirral.

The showroom was full of brilliant people, warm conversations and an atmosphere that was impossible not to smile in. We had a fantastic DJ setting the tone for the afternoon, a scone-off that brought out some seriously impressive baking, a live raffle that had everyone on the edge of their seats and the kind of genuine community spirit that reminded us exactly why we do this every year.

The generosity of everyone who attended, donated, baked, donated prizes and simply showed up was completely humbling. Every year we think it cannot get better. And every year this community proves us beautifully wrong.

To everyone who supported last year's event in any way, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You are amazing.

A themed Aloha Summer bake off because we need to see your best summer creations

Ibiza inspired decor and disco balls because this is a closing party and we are going all out

A live raffle with incredible prizes to be won throughout the afternoon

Bubbly on arrival because every great party deserves a proper welcome

A videographer on the day capturing every single moment so the memories last long after the afternoon ends

It is going to be the biggest and best community event on the Wirral we have ever hosted. And we genuinely cannot wait.

More Than a Charity Morning: The Networking Element

One of the things we love most about our annual community event on the Wirral is something that perhaps surprises people who have not attended before.

It is one of the best networking events on the Wirral calendar.

Every year the showroom fills with a brilliant mix of local business owners, entrepreneurs, creatives, community figures and wonderful individuals all in one room, all in a relaxed and genuinely joyful atmosphere. The kind of conversations that happen at a community event like this are the kind that lead to new friendships, new collaborations and new opportunities.

There is something about a shared purpose that opens people up. When everyone in a room is there for a reason that matters, the connections feel real rather than transactional. And the atmosphere at a James James Kitchens community event is always warm, welcoming and completely unpretentious.

If you are a business owner or professional on the Wirral looking for a genuinely enjoyable way to meet brilliant local people while doing something meaningful, Aloha Summer is the community event on the Wirral to be held this September.

One Final Thought

At James James Kitchens, we design kitchens that bring people together. Spaces where families gather, where friendships are celebrated and where the everyday moments of life become something worth holding onto.

Our annual community event on the Wirral is an extension of that belief. A moment where the community we love so dearly comes together in our showroom, for a few hours, to do something that genuinely matters.

Aloha Summer is going to be extraordinary. And we would love for you to be part of it.

Friday 25th September 2026. 11am to 3pm. James James Kitchens Showroom, West Kirby.

We will see you there. Aloha.
