Following on from 2021 being a year of uncertainty and chaos we are now all searching for some peace & calm. We have spent the last couple of years in lockdowns in our homes so it is no surprise that the colour of the year is a tranquil shade of olive green. In stark contrast to the bright and bold ‘classic blue’ which is still proving very popular in the world of interiors. 

Many of my own designs feature a variety of colours and prints, adding to my own personal style of classic and contemporary. 

The colour green brings tranquility to a room which is what everyone needs right now. This is why it is a great accompanying colour to stone and grey. It’s a timeless colour which won’t date because it can be incorporated with almost anything. 

I have paired green with gold, black and silver accents before which shows how versatile the colour can be in a room. Green coordinates perfectly with brass and chrome fittings but my personal favourite is with black metal. Green kitchen cupboards with black metal accents is striking yet sophisticated.
